Your unforgettable flotilla holiday begins on mythical Lefkas—an island central to Greek mythology, in particular to Homer’s Odyssey. Lefkas is known for its water sports, with windsurfing, kite surfing and paragliding especially popular in the region, while the ancient Venetian fortress of Agia Mavra is always worth a visit. Welcome drinks that evening prior to a free night where you can head for dinner, we can recommend restaurants for you.

Head to Milos beach on the western shores of Lefkas for strong winds and high waves perfect for kitesurfing.

Day 2

Meganisi - Vathi Harbour

It's a nice easy 10NM today, so 2 hours straight there or take your time and learn how your boat handles, stop for a swim and we'll see you there. Sail the gentle waters of the Ionian Sea for the largest harbour on the northern coast of Meganissi. Glide past fertile, pine-covered islands dotted with red-tiled houses. Fringed with olive trees sample fresh seafood caught daily and enjoy traditional Greek cuisine at one of the harbours oldest tavernas.

Traditional Ionian village

Take the jaunt inland to the traditional Ionian village of Katomeri and explore the gift shops, tavernas, bars, and cafés dotted amidst stone houses colourfully decorated with flowers. Alternatively, hike to a nearby beach and check out the sunken plane.

Explore the sunken plane

There is a sunken plane on your port-hand side as you enter, perfect to see early morning when the sun is in the right direction. If you enjoy a little hiking there are some lovely walks to beaches perfect for a dip. We'll be having a lovely traditional dinner together paired with some local Lefkas wines, as Meganissi even though it's an island is part of the prefecture of Lefkada."

Kastos

As we leave Meganissi behind we head east towards a much more traditional and quiet side of the Ionian. There are several beautiful bays on the island of Kalamos to stop for lunch and swim on your way to Kastos or alternatively drop your anchor off the beach of Mitikas on the mainland and experience a super quaint greek village on the mainland.

This evening, weather dependant we'll be mooring in our own little bay just to the south of the harbour for a beach party. No problem if it feels a little chilly we also have a beautiful dinner alternative in a converted windmill with fabulous views south to the dragonara islands.

Day 4

Kioni, Ithaca

We head south towards Ithaca. The picturesque village of Kioni. Bougainvillea-clad traditional houses. It's tiny but stunning and not to be missed. On the way, we have the island of Atokos. To the east is One House Bay, where we have our own wild pigs. A little further to the south is Cliff Bay. Stunning natural white cliffs towering above. One of the deepest areas we have at around 300M depth in places....so deep even the depth sounders cant return the signal in the black oily waters.

The village surrounds the harbour like an amphitheater. Often there is a cross wind in the afternoons. Water comes in a bowser that needs to be called and sometimes there is a tap available on the dock. Onion Pie is the specialty.

Today is your day to shine. Put your sailing skills to the test and gain confidence on the water with your free sailing day. Set out for the secluded bays and harbours dotted around the Ionian, stopping at sleepy fishing villages along the way or simply relaxing. It’s entirely up to you. No matter what you choose, your lead crew is available to give you top tips and the latest weather reports..

Day 6

Paleros/Nikiana

Lefkas Flotilla

Paleros is a great spot to catch the local flavour of the Ionian Isles, offering summertime puppet shows, theatrical performances, and traditional Greek dancing in the town square. You'll enjoy a traditional meal in a family tavern and share the free sail adventures with all the other crews whilst appreciating the sunset. Alternatively, if the weather is settled, we will anchor off a beautiful restaurant on the beach just to the south of Nikiana harbour on Lefkas Island.

Suggested lunch spots

Anchor in Varko Bay to enjoy swimming in the warm, clear Ionian. This sheltered bay is the perfect place to stop for your first lunch anchorage of the week.

This night will be our final evening and the lead boat will organise either dinner or drinks ashore where prizes will be given out related to the weeks activities. We head back to the base to return your yacht, along the way enjoy the beautiful sail and scenery.
