Stand Up Paddling Next To Catamaran At Corfu Island Greece

You’ll start your bareboat holiday from lovely Gouvia Marina. The largest marina in the northern Ionian, Gouvia is situated just 15 minutes from cosmopolitan Corfu, where you’ll find candy-coloured Venetian buildings sprawling along the water’s edge. Explore Corfu’s Old Town, a UNESCO site; stroll the Liston, an arcaded street built during the French occupation; and wander the city’s green esplanade.

Venetian architecture

Head to Corfu town and explore Palaio Frourio, a 15th century Byzantine castle constructed by the Venetians. Climb to the summit of the inner outcrop to see the lighthouse and enjoy 360-degree panoramic views.

Sunsail Catamaran Anchored at Corfu Island Greece

Today you’ll take your new yacht on a short jaunt into the Ionian. Explore the water between Corfu’s northeast coast and mainland Greece. We suggest you head north towards the traditional Greek fishing village of Kalami. The sand-and-shingle beach is a Blue Flag winner and the natural cove means it’s sheltered from swells so it’s perfect for swimming. Whenever you’re ready, head south to Mandraki Harbour, situated just under the steep walls of Corfu’s Venetian fort.

Get lost amidst the labyrinth of narrow, cobbled streets in Corfu’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Mandraki Harbour to Lakka, Paxos

Head south along Corfu’s coast toward the open waters of the Ionian and Lakka on the northern tip of Paxos. Tree-covered hills slope gently to the sea, providing shelter from the prevailing winds and creating a perfect harbour. Lakka’s pebbly beach gives way to golden sand as soon as you step in the water and on Harami Beach you’ll find banana boats, windsurfing and water skiing.

Take a stroll over the headland and you’ll see a picturesque lighthouse overlooking the turquoise Ionian.

Catamaran Anchoring and People Stand Up Paddling Corfu Island

It’s a straight shot of blue-water sailing from Lakka to Parga on Greece’s mainland. Parga is packed with music bars, tavernas and kafenios (coffee shops), and the bustling harbour is alive with boats. Beaches frame the pretty coastal town; enjoy lively Kryoneri or head for the quieter shores of its little sister, Piso Kryoneri.

Island charm

Just off Parga’s coast tiny islands freckle the blue waters. Swim to Panagia Island from the main beach and see the whitewashed chapel.

Soak in the slower way of life on Antipaxos, Paxos’ tiny sister island. Anchor along the northern shore and explore the two beaches: Vriki and Voutoumi. You’ll have smooth, crystal clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Sivota Mourtos to Plataria, mainland Greece

It’s just a short hop from Sivota Mourtos north to Plataria, leaving you plenty of time to explore both Corfu’s southern shores and the coast of mainland Greece. A long breakwater leads to a bustling harbour, while tavernas and cafés dot the quayside. Walk 100 meters south along the harbour and you’ll find a sand and shingle beach.
